9 colorful Decor DIYs for each day of Navratri
The festival of beats, garba, joy, and fun is here. Navratri brings nine days of sheer joy coupled with bright colours, brightening up the otherwise tedious year. It is the time to purchase blingy dandiayas, and coordinate our outfits with the colour of the day.
For the unacquainted, Navratri or ‘nine nights’ is a celebration of Goddess Durga, each day signifying each of her nine forms. Each day has a significant colour, with people adorning that colour outfits. It is a pretty sight indeed!
As I was gearing up to set up our wardrobe accordingly, it occurred to me; why not decorate my home according to these colours as well. One new element basis the colour of the day – exciting right?
Now, I know it cannot be something big like a repaint or an expensive exquisite decor piece, so I took the easiest solution available. DIYs, of course. Just a few easily accessible things, some free time and one magnificent decor element for each of the nine days of Navratri.
So, my friends, let’s get started!
Day 1 – Yellow String Lights
The yellowish golden lights can brighten up the darkest of nights. Try this DIY today!
Day 2 – Green Bottle DIY
You can get waste green colour wine bottles at any nook and cranny of the city. Grab some to add the Navratri element with perfect DIY.
Day 3 – Grey Marble DIY
No, it doesn’t include actual marble. These are rather easy and managed to make a colour known to be dull, so happening and bright.
Day 4 – Orange Room Decor DIY
All things orange and it is surprisingly very beautiful!
Day 5 – White Mug DIY
Simple and easy, one of the best ways to add a little white to your home this Navratri.
Day 6 – Red Candle DIY
Candles not only add the red colour but also lighten up your home. Literally.
Day 7 – Blue Dream Catcher DIY
Pretty isn’t it? Sleep tight!
Day 8 – Pink Owl Pillow DIY
What is cuter than an owl? A pink owl! This Navratri just keeps getting better and better.
Day 9 – Purple Stained Mason Jar DIY
The elegance of mason jars in my favourite colour!
