7 ways of imbibing monsoon in your home décor
Monsoon home decor hacks, to make your home and office nice and splashy! Blue is the colour of our choice, what about you?
The splashes of monsoon are best enjoyed indoors. Don’t believe me? Steaming hot tea and piping hot pakodas–home is where rains feel the best. And if the walls, furnishings, and settings scream monsoons too, you’ve gotten yourself a cozy haven for the next four months.
How do you make your home feel as fresh as the first showers of rain and as happy as the fragrance of wet mud?
Well, I’ll tell you how!
Which is the first shade that comes to mind when you think monsoons? Blue-black skies, lush green mountains or brighter version of every colour? For me its blue – blue of the rainwater and blue of the sky! Now that you have picked one colour – here are some of the things you can do.
Clear Blue Walls
Obviously, you can’t and shouldn’t re-paint the whole house! But, pick a wall, and paint in one straight pastel shade. This teal bathroom wall says eloquence and rains, all at the same time.
Texture
It need not be a painting! Just select a wall and use shades of your selected colour, blue in this case, and create all kinds of textures you like! Gushing colours have the same soothing effect that rains have.
Paintings
Rapunzel’s home with strokes of blue, purple, and green –any scene, place, or thing that reminds you of monsoons – replicate it on your wall in the desired shades.
Tiles
It might not always be possible to paint and re-paint, but, you can create a similar impact with tiles. Glossy blue tiles, that reflect light and make the monsoon just brighter.
Frames
If you find your favourite colours captured exactly the way you wanted on a canvas, you know what to do! Find a corner, put a nice canvas chair by it, light a few candles and read a book as droplets tickle by.
Shading
If one colour isn’t your thing, go for shading! Blue with white, creates a poised impact – decorate it with frames, flowers, bottle lamps and all that you like!
Hangings
Warm wool in breezy rains, that is the kind of combination I would love to create. You can go with all sorts of fittings!
Rustic and subtle, your monsoons just got better! Do not forget, to keep the indoor décor new as ever, you might need exterior wall protection.
Happy Monsoons!
