A lot of nonprofits and NGOs are using social media to increase their outreach and raise funds for a noble cause. If your NGO/nonprofit is also using social media effectively, then your nominations are most welcome at the Manthan Award 2012.
Manthan Award Ecosystem 2012 is accepting the nominations to recognize the best practices in e-Content and Creativity. First launched on 10th October 2004, by Digital Empowerment Foundation in partnership with World Summit Award, Department of Information Technology, Govt. of India, and other stakeholders, has been recognizing the best digital innovations for the last 9 years.
The core objective of the Manthan Award process is to make visible the contents that already exist and thus demonstrating the richness and diversity of content creativity to those interested in understanding and planning an Information Society.
In 2012, the idea has further been extended to include the best innovations and ICT practices from 36 countries in South Asia and Asia Pacific region. Their regional partners include ISOC, IAMAI, APC, ICTA- Sri Lanka, Dnet- Bangladesh, NICTAA-Afghanistan, CAN-Nepal and many others.
Nominations can be sent in one or more of the 16 categories including e-Business & Enterprise, Community Broadcasting, e-Culture & Heritage e-Education & Learning, e-Environment, e-Agriculture, e-Financial Inclusion & Livelihood, e-Health, e-Governance, e-Inclusion, e-Infrastructure, e-Localisation, e-News & Media, e-Entertainment & Games, e-Travel & Tourism, e-Science & Technology. There is no entry fee for applying in any number of categories for Manthan Award 2012. Nomination form is available online. However, entries can be submitted both online & offline.
