Manu Prasad, Former Social Head at Myntra joins Group M as head of the social media practice – South. In this role, he will report to Karthik Nagarajan, National Director - Social Media & Insights at GroupM.
As we were informed, GroupM needed a leader at their Bangalore office for their social media business. Manu Prasad, who has been in the Industry for quite some time, was the ideal candidate for this position. He is someone who could strengthen Group M’s solutions at a national level as well.
Karthik said,
Besides leading the social media relationships with all Group M clients in Bangalore, Manu will play a critical role in strategizing for our key clients nationally. He will also contribute to creation and consolidation of products.
Manu has almost a decade of experience in the traditional and digital brand management space, having worked on WorldSpace, MidDay and several brands in the Times Group. His last assignment was at Myntra as Head - Social Media.
He was leading the creation of a strong social strategy, having built a social program from ground up for Myntra. Manu was alsp responsible for implementing monitoring and measurement systems, integrated social CRM processes and product level social integrations.
As much as we have followed his career, Manu has handled all aspects of brand communication and he will bring in a wealth of experience across media platforms. Having worked at the brand side of the business, he would have greater clarity and a broader perspective to build brand strategies.
Likewise, Manu has been an early adopter of technology. He also as a keen interest and experience is in Listening, Social Media Analytics, Social CRM and Creation of Branded Digital content which are instrumental in executing better strategies. I’m sure with his vast experience; he would be able to add value to Group M’s ecosystem.
Digital, most of the time is an afterthought to clients, but Manu’s appointment at Group M clearly indicates that even mainline agencies are now setting up digital teams with experienced professionals to strengthen their digital offerings. We hope we will witness more and more social and traditional convergence in the Indian Digital space.
