ITChintu.com is a one stop utility portal for the emerging niche consumer base of IT Professionals. Developed as a necessity, it provides a wide range of solutions to the problems faced by working professionals with just a little pinch of humour. Whether one wants to find new accommodation, rent a house, buy a bike, sell his old phone, get a carpool, find a new job or even search for their soul mate, ITChintu.com is ready to help!

Initially, the portal was started by a single person and then made live. Now we have grown into a team of six people who handle the different parts of the business.

Whom do we cater to?

We are basically catering to the emerging niche consumer base of IT Professionals. We focus on solving the problems faced by them in their day to day lives. But that doesn't imply that we are not open to other working professionals interested in joining our forum. The idea is to help people solve their problems and not just to create a community.

What do we offer to our consumers?

ITchintu.com provides simple solutions to the problems faced by IT professionals. There's an accommodation portal, a search engine for IT jobs, a matrimonial portal for IT professionals, a marketplace for buying and selling products ranging from electronics and household items to vehicles. And if you are still looking for more, ITchintu.com also offers a Weekender forum to help you meet people near you on weekends, wherever you may reside, and build your network.

How do we make their lives simpler?

We have received a lot of appreciation from the IT Circle for our startup. We have been successful in making people smile and laugh after a long day of hard work. People connect easily with our spoofs. Some have described them as 'really innovative'  while some find them 'hilarious'.  Besides the entertainment quotient, they have also appreciated the different portals started by us like carpool, accommodation and jobs which have helped many people especially freshers who are new in the IT world, to solve their commutation and accommodation problems. Even the matrimonial and jobs portal is quite famous among experienced professionals for finding their soul mates and jobs through the reference network.

What motivated us to begin?

ITChintu.com was launched because we saw the need for a common place where IT professionals within a city could come together, meet, engage in trade and help each other in several ways. Right now there is no such portal in India which caters to the needs and requirements of this niche consumer base. In our portal one can visit on-line forums to find an apartment to live in, sell their old car, bike, music system, laptop or furniture, buy any item  and even find their soul mates and make new friends while doing all of the above.

What's in a name?

The name ITChintu itself is a spoof on the lives of IT Professionals. We have chosen this name because it very depicts the IT life style very well. People connect quite easily with the name ITChintu.

Chintu is an innocent hard-working guy, new in the industry, who wants to be successful but doesn't know how! He is an 'all work no play' guy, tired of working 11-12 hours a day, who goes to office even on weekends. And even after doing all the work (sometimes even that of his Manager), he gets just a few words in appreciation "Keep up the good job" or "Good Job, Chintu."

I strongly believe in the philosophies of Swami Vivekanand - "Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success." Here at ITChintu.com, We want to innovate things, make the lives of people easier and give them a reason to smile. We want to make ITChintu.com a brand that people remember for having significantly improved their lives.

 How do we see Social Media?

Social media provides a great platform for people to interact in and to share their views and opinions. It has helped people to come together in support of social causes and has made our society a better place to live in. Our vision is also aligned in the same direction, that is, to provide a common platform for people where they can interact, share their views, help each other and make their lives better.

Currently we are....

We started out in June 2013 and from there on we have never looked back. The journey has been quite motivating. Our website is accessed by thousands of IT Professionals and within the few months of our existence we've got more than 12000 registered users, 8800 posted ads and a few thousand highly engaged Facebook fans which show the likability of our website. Also we have expanded to a team of six members.

Our biggest challenge was..

As we were all working professionals we began our work as a self funded project. But in the coming months we will be looking for investors to support us.

We’re making moolah by...

For any internet startup advertisement is a major revenue source.  Apart from advertisement we are also into e-commerce, running a fashion store for young professionals. But right now our we are only focusing on growth and providing quality service to our customers.

Our What The **** Moment

We really enjoy making spoofs. Its a full-on laughing session! We brainstorm for different ideas for our jokes. During the session, each member comes up with a different idea which mostly revolve around their role as a Chintu :-) in IT life . We discuss the jokes, laugh at them and get motivation for our work.

Industry as we foresee it

Social media has revolutionized things within a very short period of time. It has done a great job in spreading awareness and helping people to come together and fight for the causes, be it corruption campaign or social evils like the Delhi rape case. Seeing the trust people have in social media its future seems to be quite bright.

Yes, we are hiring people for technology and business development. We have grown quickly to a team of six and we are looking forward to ramping up our team.
