It's that time of the year when the nation is abuzz with all the hype surrounding the 2014 General Elections as all the parties are trying to put their best foot forward on the most revolutionary platform they have faced till date-- social media--in order to impress the voters and gain political mileage.

However, a look at the results over the past few weeks suggest that the nation's oldest political party, the Indian National Congress, has for some reason not been able to strike the right chord with the social masses and has been ousted from the race, if we are to judge by the numbers on Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.
The number of mentions, fan engagements and video viewerships for the Indian National Congress have not been able to make an impact, unlike their counterparts. It loses its race to the newest political party, AAP, and BJP, headed by Arvind Kejriwal and Narendra Modi respectively, both of whom have a strong social media following.
The current scenario pretty much sums it all. With AAP & BJP leading the social media war, INC has a lot of ground to cover in a very short time.
