Creating presentations is a nightmare for a lot of people, Entrepreneurs and media professionals included. I for one love creating power-point presentations and designing them.
Honestly, it’s not that hard! All it takes is a few steps to make sure that there are minor design elements that work on the aesthetics of the presentation. There are basic flaws that most presentations have – too much text. A lot of people add too much text to their presentations. Remember it’s a powerpoint presentation and NOT a word document. When you present, the focus needs to be on you and not on the slides. If you’ve ever been in a situation where you feel people are more interested on the slides and not you – this is your first clue that you presentation isn’t all that great.
I’ve shared a few basic tips on making great presentations that deliver value and don’t kill your audience. A powerpoint should be used only as a reference to what you are going to be saying – it needs to designed very well and should carry you core values. You are magic that brings out the best of the presentation.
As Entrepreneurs, we have a lot of presentations to deliver – here is my two cents to making the PPTs more friendly and helping you deliver a better presentation.
