Facebook has officially released a new stand alone app which is basically a discussion board for users to share and talk about their likes and interests. “Rooms" is Facebook’s very own version of secret chat app where people can use any name they prefer as Facebook account is not required for it. This app contains rooms which are centric to general topics the public likes discussing about, which will require an invite link to enter. Providing an email address is optional. It has been disclosed that Rooms will allow its users to create a unique identity separate from their Facebook a/c. You could be Batman now. YEAH!
“One of the magical things about the early days of the web was connecting to people who you would never encounter otherwise in your daily life,” Facebook said in a statement on Thursday
“From unique obsessions and unconventional hobbies, to personal finance and health-related issues—you can celebrate the sides of yourself that you don’t always show to your friends,” the company said.
However, the app is currently available only on iOS in US and UK. Plans for Android or Windows Phone were not disclosed. There is no desktop version for Rooms also.
