Facebook messenger web app launched

Facebook launched a dedicated WEB application for Facebook messenger. The standalone messaging app can be accessed at messenger.com.

The original messenger is still nestled in the existing Facebook interface. However, the new standalone web application is an additional feature that separates messaging from social networking.

Historically, Facebook has tried and tested various versions of the same web application and failed, due to which they launched a mobile messenger application that forced users outside of Facebook mobile and into messenger mobile. Facebook claims that there are no such plans for the web version as of now.
