On July 01, 2015, Snapchat announced not one but three major updates on its blog since their launch in 2011. Good old tap-and-hold to view snaps has been replaced with tap-for-view user interface.
Although, their Tap-and-hold feature was rarely complained about, this new update will not give its 100M daily active users tired thumbs. This feature should please voracious Snapchatters.
Other upgrades include changes in Snapcodes which is termed as a ‘Serious Upgrade’. A picture of the user can now be used as their display image in the middle of the Snapcode for other users to know, add and use pictures to talk. Snapchat is also introducing a geolocation feature wherein, users can add other Snapchatters in their proximity with the option of, ‘Add nearby'
The pictorial mobile messenger is trying to up its game in the social media industry. They have also revitalized their security, making it difficult for someone to hack into the user’s account by introducing two-factor authentication.
All these updates will probably make Snapchats experience more satisfying and entertaining.
