Celebs may look spruce on screens with those fine looks, jaw-dropping outfits or magnificent personas but, under the social media roof, they’re all equal, more or less. Some celebrities, giant or petite fixating over social media have garnered massive attention (wrath or giggles) for their social media slip-ups in 2015, lets recap.
Fame can surely be notorious and having gigantic followers might not always be merry; these celebrities just manage to affirm this.
Salman Khan Twitter defense for Yakub Memon
The mega star managed to leave the country in uproar in just 140 characters when he mounted a series o feisty defense for Yakub Memon. Voicing against the Supreme Court judgment through a few tweets, Salman exclaimed, “Get tiger (Memon) hang him. Parade him not his brother.”
Twitter within no time was split up in two, to defend or condemn his actions creating an enormous buzz on the social media. To conclude, Salman himself not only retracted his tweets but also posted an apology.
Ameesha Patel- Kushal Tandon Twitter tiff
Two lesser acclaimed celebrities, managed to grab the attention of Twitteratis with their ugly spat. It all began when Kushal Tandon, the ex-Bigg Boss participant (and the very patriotic, if we may say) took Twitter to express his displeasure towards Ameesha Patel for 'not standing up for the national anthem' at a movie theatre, averring that she disrespected the national anthem.
The actress did not take this allegation well and reacted in a string of furious tweets (because one was not enough) citing that she was seated staring at her phone because she was going through her ‘monthly girly problems.’ That’s right, “girly problems.”
Twitteratis sure had their share of laughter over this squabble, clearly a blunder from both ends.
Sonakshi Sinha - BAN-istan troll.
Twitter can be condescending, and ruthlessly blunt in addition to being a troll factory and actress Sonakshi Sinha would definitely agree with us on this. Sinha was fired by Twitteratis when she tweeted against a week-long meat ban in Mumbai imposed for a Jain festival calling India as ‘BAN-istan’, post which she became a target for hate tweets.
This is a free country! Welcome to BAN-istan... I meant india.. Stupid autocorrect.

Sonakshi's Twitter critics managed to surface a 2014 tweet from her asking then-Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to ban cosmetics tested on animals, blaming her to have double standards. Despite all this, Sinha replied to hate tweets like a boss. @devikajoshi760 #sonasays pic.twitter.com/SP4TYDAh5u — Sonakshi Sinha (@sonakshisinha) September 2, 2015Sonam Kapoor’s Twitter troll
After Sonakshi Sinha, Sonam Kapoor was the fresh bait for Twitteratis when her tweet read, “Our country is going to remain a 3rd world nation because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few.”

The tweet did not go down well and she received backlash for calling the ban misogynistic. Kapoor, came out to defend herself rather sternly and claimed that what she tweeted was actually a critique of the general mentality and not exclusively about meat ban.
@mithunkoppal no it doesn't moron — Sonam Kapoor (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
@Bunga_Bunga_69 this is the exact misogynistic mentality I was talking about.. Name calling doesn't make you smarter.
— Sonam Kapoor (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
Before being judgmental assholes. What I said was a critique of the general mentality .. Which is not exclusive to the banning of meat. — Sonam Kapoor (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
And the saddest thing about this whole thing is.. That it's mostly women who are calling me out on being bimbo. Guess it's not only the men!

Anushka Sharma tweeting post the demise APJ Abdul Kalam
Another Bollywood beauty, Anushka Sharma had a scuffle on Twitter, when she was trolled for tweeting post the demise of former President APJ Abdul Kalam or “Azad APJ Abdul Kalam” as Sharma preferred to call him.
The genuine mistake of adding ‘Azad’ to his name was followed by trolls on unforgiving Twitteratis. She later clarified to the press, "It was an honest mistake and even though I got trolled, I don't care because my intentions were correct. They are cowards, faceless people who comment sitting behind a computer. Do that to my face and we will see."
Just read this tweet of educated intelligent actress @AnushkaSharma Hadd Ho Gayee Yar. Ashiqui Se Hi Time Nahi Milta! pic.twitter.com/Zxs6WO9JQB — KRK (@kamaalrkhan) July 27, 2015
This is not the first time social media gagged at the cost of Sharma, she has been the target before and blamed repeatedly for the poor performance for her cricketer boyfriend Virat Kohli on the field.
Abhijeet Bhattacharya backs Salman Khan
If you thought only fans had illogical and blind theories to shout out their support for superstar Salman Khan for his infamous hit and run case, then you’re wrong. Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya also had something majorly insensitive to tweet about this scenario which infuriated a majority when he blamed the government who failed to provide the poor with roof and suggested that this forced people like the hit-and-run victims to sleep on footpaths.
Suicide is crime so is sleeping on footpath..80% homeles film ppl strugld achievd stardom but never slept on footpath @BeingSalmanKhan
— abhijeet (@abhijeetsinger) May 6, 2015
If that was not enough to make things worse, he also said that roads were meant for “cars and dogs and not for people sleeping on them”. He reached out to the film fraternity to support Khan and attacked the homeless by saying, “Kutta rd pe soyega kutte ki maut marega, roads garib ke baap ki nahi hai I ws homles an year nvr slept on rd” (If a dog sleeps on the road, he will die a dog’s death). He also questioned why the victims were sleeping on the Mumbai roads and not in their villages.
Hritik Roshan, too slow for social media?
White-gold or black-blue, remember? Don’t worry, it’s not back again as social media agreed to disagree and leave it way back in February. But Bollywood actor Hritik Roshan seemed to have woken up pretty late to the dress dilemma in May. Roshan who was evidently oblivious to what was making social media viral and was heavily trolled for not being updated with social media.

Rishi Kapoor's spat with the favourite Khan of Twitter
Right from picking Twitter fights, to giving kisses or kicks to celebrities, commenting vulgarly for mainstream actresses, trolling or poking fun at Bollywood celebs he’s done it all. Kamaal Rashid Khan, popularly known as KRK made an outrageous tweet to veteran Rishi Kapoor and his son Ranbir Kapoor this time.
Rishi Kapoor, did not take this statement very well and lashed out at KRK and even claimed to report his tweets for the foul language used.
Further, Twitter took down the posts and an angry KRK tweeted back to Kapoor saying that he will be filing a defamation case against him.
Our favourite celebrities managed to keep us entertained on Twitter with their constant remarks and spats. Let's see what 2016 has in store.
