Brand - HDFC RED
HDFC RED organized a one of its kind photowalk in Mumbai with photography enthusiasts to identify and celebrate the unique identity of lanes that are landmarks in their own right that become an important part of a person’s address.
Objective
To launch their official Instagram handle, and connect with youth by indulging in a creative and fun activity celebrating the distinct lanes and landmarks of Mumbai with #LanesByLens.
Execution
#LanesByLens was kicked off from Radio Club, Colaba to Juhu, Mumbai on the 10th of December, 2016 giving a chance to young photographers an opportunity and a platform to showcase their talents on HDFC RED’s official Instagram handle.
www.lanesbylens.com , a dedicated microsite was created for the photowalk with details regarding participation and other information and the best pictures would be awarded an Apple Macbook Air and other prizes.
As the photowalk ensued, HDFC RED posted pictures from the activity on their Instagram account providing a visual portrayal from the various locations in the city.
More than 200 participants showed up for #LanesByLens, armed with their respective cameras with an aim to capture the spirit of Mumbai’s landmark lanes travelling through the city.

Beginning the photowalk from Colaba and moving on to other iconic ‘lanes’ in places such as Worli, Bandra and Juhu, where the photowalk concluded, after which photography experts interacted and gave tips to the participants.
The top three winners from #LanesByLens were announced on HDFC RED’s Instagram account a few days later on 27th December, 2016.

Results
Marking their debut on Instagram, #LanesByLens was aimed at promoting HDFC RED’s official account which earned the brand 200+ new followers.
The photography activity resulted in 800+ posts using the hashtag #LanesByLens, with more than 400 registrations being made for the photowalk.
202 participants arrived for the photowalk on the day of the activity.
HDFC RED’s distinct take on a visually appealing and participative contest proved fruitful for their Instagram inauguration.
