In yet another dramatic turn of events, Sonu Nigam quits Twitter. His decision was prompted majorly by the suspension of Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s account owing to tweets in abusive language against JNU student and activist, Shehla Rashid.
Abhijeet’s tweets were a response to Rashid’s sex trafficking allegations against some BJP leaders.
Nigam explained his reasons and point of views in a series of tweets, that say he doesn’t want to be a part of that “spews so much venom.” He also said he no longer wanted to indulge with “pseudo intellectuals” and is quitting Twitter as a defiance of a “One sided sham.”

Sonu Nigam was recently caught in a Twitter controversy, for calling the morning Azaan disturbing. After a flurry of threats and insults, Nigam clarified that it isn’t about Azaan but the use of loudspeakers.
With commoners, political leaders, and celebrities using Twitter for various agendas, the flipside of the microblogging platform comes to for yet again.
