On King Khan's 52nd birthday, Social Samosa takes a look at some of the most popular Shah Rukh Khan campaigns over the years.
Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most popular brand endorsers in India.
According to an October 2016 report on India’s most valued celebrity brands published by Duff & Phelps, a global valuation and corporate finance advisory firm, Khan’s brand value stands at $131 million. Reportedly, as per estimates, the actor charges Rs 3-3.5 crore a day for endorsements.
Shah Rukh Khan has been associated with brands across categories, from iconic ones like Nerolac, Pepsi, Videocon, Airtel, Lux, Frooti to new age e-commerce brands like Big Basket and Food Panda. He has also received flak for endorsing controversial products like Fair & Handsome or Pan Vilas pan masala.
There have been a lot of reports written on how irresponsible the actor is to be endorsing a product which promote skin lightening, but Shah Rukh Khan has always maintained his stance that if the product is out in the market, he is not doing anything wrong by endorsing it. There were also reports that the actor charged Rs 20 crore for endorsing Pan Vilas and has also served notice by the regulator-- Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), for endorsing Pan Masala brands.
