Social Samosa takes a look at Bollywood song brand campaigns and how they have managed to create earworms that create a strong brand recall!
Today when the age-old brand Rooh Afza launched it’s digital campaign #GhulkeJiyo which had a customized rendition of ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan’, it came as no surprise. Until recently we have come across many such brands that are targeting consumers by jellying up the product essence with an appropriate bollywood song or creating their own version of it.
Whether it be the saas-bahu duo grooving on ‘Saat Samundar Paar’ in a Cadbury Dairy Milk ad or Wrigley’s Doublemint portraying romance of a young couple with the background score of ‘Ek Ajnabee Haseena Se’, marketers have taken the filmy route to advertise their products time and again.
We take a look at similar ad campaigns where bollywood songs stroked the right chord with the consumers. The commercials are no less than a musical and go well with the gen z population.
