India was swept away when Netflix released its much awaited web series ‘Sacred Games’ based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 thriller novel of the same name.
For those who haven't watched it yet, the series is about a cynical and troubled police officer Sartaj Singh played by Saif Ali Khan, who is contacted by the notorious and ruthless crime boss Ganesh Gaitonde essayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui to prevent a terrorist attack in the city. The series won millions of hearts across all age groups and got amazing reviews from the critics.
Apart from the story line, the series went viral for its raw brutality and rough edged dialogues. Of course various brands (and even some police departments!) grabbed on this opportunity to meme the hell out of it and market their products.
