IBM India, the Indian subsidiary of IBM has appointed Deepali Naair as Chief Marketing Officer to look after the operations in India and South Asia. Naair steps into the shoes of Vasantha Kumar who quits the position after a nine-year-long stint with the company to embark on something new.
The development was announced by Karan Bajwa, Managing Director at IBM India on Twitter where he wrote, “Delighted to welcomeDeepali Naair as the new CMO for IBM India/South Asia. Thanks for your contributionsVasantha Kumar. Looking forward to creating exciting new experiences for our clients together!
On her appointment, Naair replied to the tweet saying, “I am very excited to be at IBM. I have been an admirer, for long, of all the cutting edge technology work done by IBM. The IBMers that I have known have always sung praises too.”

Naair comes with two decades plus years of experience in Marketing, E-commerce, Brand, Product & Sales. Before IBM she led Brand, Marketing and Digital at IIFL Investment Manager group of Companies.
She has also held leadership positions with Mahindra, L&T Financial Services Group & HSBC, worked with brands such as Tata Motors, BPL Mobile, Draft FCB-Ulka and was the Marketing Manager for Saffola and Mediker at Marico. Her financial services experience constitutes of HSBC Global Asset Management and L&T insurance where she was Head – Marketing, E-Commerce and Customer Service. She also managed marketing for L&T Financial Services IPO and L&T Infrastructure Bonds.
She last led Marketing, Brand, Digital, Analytics, E-Commerce & Inventory Sales at Mahindra Holidays as Chief Marketing Officer. Both Digital & Inventory Sales has seen tremendous growth under her leadership.
