YouTube is offering it’s Premium and YouTube Music services at discounted rates to students in the United States. YouTube Premium is $6.99 a month instead of $12.99 & YouTube Music is $4.99 instead of $9.99.
The discounted memberships are only available to College or University students in the United States. Signing up for YouTube Premium before 31st January would get you the service for $5.99 instead of $6.99 and the price would be the same for the entire duration of Student Membership that is four years.
YouTube Premium offers ad-free videos and their squad of supreme series and YouTube Music is a music streaming platform similar to Spotify but with more prominence given to music videos.

YouTube has recently announced tests of showing two ads back-to-back at the start of the video. The discounted rates might at least nudge students to sign up for Premium.
YouTube is a diverse community of creators and is a platform where people turn to each other for knowledge and creativity, YouTube Music on the other hand is a simple music streaming and downloading app, so irrespective of discounted or not, monthly fees is enough to not invite users while there’s Spotify and other free music apps.
