Sangitha Aanand, of the decor blog, Sajavat takes us through her -journey - what started as a hobby later took the shape of full-time passion.
She started off with decorating her own room with simple hacks and tricks, but it soon bloomed into something much bigger. Along with her journey, Sangitha shares her trip and tricks to grow as a blogger.
Looking back, where did it all begin?
Decorating and styling spaces started as a necessity in my teens and later years, as I had a room to maintain for myself and this slowly got converted into a passion, as I moved into my own house after marriage. I found immense joy and satisfaction in converting my house to home.
And then the blog came along… Sajavat is a design, décor and art blog conceptualized in 2008. Initially, it was just nook and corners of my home that I would post on the blog or artwork that I had done in my spare time. Slowly and steadily, the blog gained momentum and then I also got the opportunity to collaborate and work for some of the major design and décor players in the market. The story still continues…

What's in the name?
Since the blog is all about styling spaces, nothing could have said it better than ‘SAJAVAT’ which means decorating in Hindi.
What is your USP in this cluttered space? How does your content give you an edge?
My decorating style has always been very simple. I try to enhance my place using stuff I already have. That doesn’t necessarily mean, am a minimalist but yes, am not an impulse buyer or a hoarder and in that sense, I encourage my followers to do the same. Have a clean, uncluttered home and give your own personal touch to your space.
What you do is what you believe in and finally, that reflects across as well!
So, I guess the simplicity shows in the stuff that I post and the audience is able to connect with it better.

How do you take moolah with your efforts?
Sajavat is driven, more by passion involved in the whole process of beautifying a space than making money but all said and done when we associate with brands and companies, we make sure we discuss benefits!
