Facebook and Facebook-owned platforms - Instagram, WhatsApp & Oculus faced an outage whe re users were able to open these platforms but were facing issues.
Users were facing issues in sending messages on Messenger, posting on the feed and accessing other features on these platforms. Oculus VR also had issues relating to its features.
WhatsApp Users in Bangladesh, Paraguay, India, and Argentina didn’t face issues in the earlier period of the outage but faced problems in sending messages later. The Facebook outage reportedly stretched for more than 10 hours around the world.
According to downdetector.com the most reported problems on Facebook were Log in (34%), News Feed (33%), Total Blackout (31%). The highest number of reported problems at one particular time in the last 24 hours is 12,211.

The reported problems include the desktop version of the Messenger not working. Instagram Stories being down, posts not loading, direct messages malfunctioning and Facebook’s ads section not functioning.
Users couldn't even login other apps synced with Facebook, as the Facebook Username and Password weren't working too.
The social media platforms informed their users via Twitter about the outage and that they are working on it.
Instagram a few hours ago informed that they're back.
Seems like Snapchat and Twitter had the last laugh yesterday.
