In our journey to laud the #GirlsWhoSailed we caught up with Manmeet Vohra, a Marketing & Advertising veteran, who with her steel grit and out of the box thinking has shaped the marketing & advertising journey of many a brand.
What started from the humble job of a Client Servicing Executive in JWT back in 2002, led into a mammoth of a career as Vohra established and re-established marketing axioms. Under her leadership, TAG Heuer India, where she spent eight years, witnessed some of their fundamental campaigns taking a luxury messaging route with King Khan and Sushmita Sen as its face.
“My passion for my work is what drives me and I am a self-driven person,” Vohra told Social Samosa in a candid conversation. Her almost obsessive quest for perfection led to many career milestones in the years to come.
Cut to 2016, Starbucks was merely three years old in India, where Manmeet was heading marketing, category, and loyalty from 2013 to 2017; brimming with vigor the brand intended to reiterate their consumers’ loyalty through a more customized and personalized approach. Enter - #MyMood#MyStarbucks, an innovating digital-led campaign that stirred the social sphere with consumer engagement.
“In three weeks, we got 1.33 lakh customers to share their mood with us. It shows that customers want to talk to us,” Manmeet told Financial Express in an interview then.
Her professional feat gives us a peek into the life of a leader, orator, and marketing icon who went on to win many awards and inspire hordes of people on the way.

“An attribute that I have stayed mindful of while facing various challenges at work is that women have the advantage of having a higher Emotional quotient than men. Hence, we must use it appropriately in situations relating to collaborations and building important relationships at work,” Vohra shares.
During her 16 years long strategic marketing and rich retail brand management experience, Vohra has been bestowed with many accolades, including “2016 Digital Marketer of the Year”, 2011 Powerbrands Hall of Fame “Most Dynamic Marketing Professional of the Year’’ and “100 Most Talented Global Marketing Leaders” Award in 2014.
If you’re curious, what does she do when not working? Manmeet loves exploring wine and coffee; following Formula 1; enjoying traveling to new places; engaging in fitness, yoga, and meditation.
“I strongly believe that in any situation, your emotional intelligence and grace coupled with conviction will never fail you and hold you in high stead always,” Vohra concludes.
