Google announced that it would soon add shopping features to YouTube by bringing shoppable ads and through creators.
The platform also plans to give shopping recommendations based on the videos.
Google is vamping up shopping across it's various divisions: Search, Google Images, redesigned Google Shopping destination and YouTube.
The 'Showcase Shopping ads', is a visual ad format that would incorporate rich lifestyle imagery and will soon be available on YouTube.
Products of Shopping Actions merchant will automatically be part of this new purchase experience on Google Shopping, Google.com and the Google Assistant. Shopping Actions will also be expanded to other Google surfaces including YouTube and Google Images, later this year.

Google will take a share of the sales coming out the venture and split it with the creators. Although, in a statement made to Bloomberg, Oliver Heckmann, a company vice president said "We are still thinking through the business model for that".
People already look upto YouTube for recommendations on products they want to buy and there are also numerous creators on the platform that review products.
The new Showcase Shopping ads feature would mean that viewers can research about a product and then directly buy it from the platform cutting off other e-commerce websites and reducing the consumers' hassle.
It would also mean that creators would have more ways to monetize their content.
