Facebook has launched two new ad solutions - Movie Reminder Ads and Movie Showtime Ads, to aid movie marketers and help people find the movies they like.
Often people discover a movie they want to see through social media and movie marketers can use this behaviour to the best of their advantage. Facebook wishes to enhance this with Movie Reminder Ads and Movie Showtime Ads.
Presently production houses and film studios engage in movie marketing by promotional posts through the actors' social media handles, collaborations with creators and also by creating the movie's account and engaging the target audience through that.
The new features initiated by Facebook will help you lock your audience in from the time they discover your movie till the time they are sitting in the theatre watching it.

Movie Reminder Ads
With this feature, when a user discovers a movie ad in their News Feed, they can tap the 'Interested' button if they look forward to watching it to receive a reminder in their notifications. The notification sends people to the movie detail page on Facebook to look up showtimes and purchase tickets.
Movie Showtime Ads
By tapping on the 'Get Showtimes' button on a movie showtime ad, the user would land on the movie detail page, where the details like show timings, dates, and more are available. Once you select the date and time you'd be able to checkout through movie-ticketing portals, wherein you'd be redirected to the portals' site.
Movie Reminder Ads and Movie Showtime Ads are currently available in US and UK for all film studios.
Facebook claims, when Universal Pictures used Movie Showtime Ads to promote its recent holiday film, "The Grinch," they saw an increase in showtime lookups and ticket purchases.
