YouTube has announced new data practices for children's content on the platform, improvements to YouTube Kids, and more.
YouTube & YouTube Kids will stop serving personalized ads on this content entirely and will also disable features such as comments and notifications.
The platform will limit data collection and use on videos made for kids. They will treat data from anyone watching children’s content on YouTube as coming from a child, regardless of the age of the user.
Creators will have to inform the platform when their content falls in this category. The company would also use machine learning to identify videos that target a young audience.
