The Indian music community and Instagram are presenting a virtual IG Live music festival, Live In Your Living Room.
As India adjusts to the new reality of social distancing, public figures and creators are finding new and innovative ways to engage and entertain their communities, one path lead to using IG Live for a virtual music festival.
The festival will be held on Sunday, March 29th, 2020, from 5:00 PM and go on until midnight. It will feature 14 artists who will each use IG Live for a slot of 30 minutes and make way for the next artist. All the artists will be Live on their respective Instagram accounts. The lineup includes Armaan Malik, Lisa Mishra, Naezy, Shalmali Kholgade, Akasa Singh, Monica Dogra, Zaeden, Arjun Kanungo, Lost Stories, Akull, Anuv Jain, Jonita Gandhi, DJ Chetas, Akanksha Dhandari, and Ankur Tewari.
Speaking about the festival, Manish Chopra, Director, and Head of Partnerships, Facebook India, said, “Instagram’s the place for safe self-expression. As the world comes together to tackle the current health situation, it’s heartening to see how people across India are using Instagram for its IG Live, Stories and Feed, to creatively express themselves and keep their friends, family and fans entertained. #LiveInYourLivingRoom is a great example of this creativity and passion, and we are thrilled to partner with the Indian music community and Represent Talent Management Agency to curate this experience.”

In the words of Armaan Malik, Singer, Song-Writer, "The entire world, including our country, is going through a very dark phase at this time. Everyone is at home, practicing social distancing so that we overcome this pandemic. I, along with various other performers, are coming together to cheer everyone up with our songs and also spread awareness about the current scenario. It is a great initiative and I'm glad to be a part of it.”
Mumbai based rapper, Naved Shaikh aka Naezy says, "As an artist, I believe we have to be responsible and keep our audience entertained whenever and wherever. I, along with various other performers, have come together to ease and cheer everyone up with our music. This is a great initiative and I'm glad to be a part of it."
The festival is being curated by Instagram and REPRESENT, and supported by all major Indian music labels.
The festival follows performances by international artists like Chris Martin, John Legend and Keith Urban have also surprised fans by hosting performances on IG Live, as part of the ‘Together at home’ initiative, urging people to stay at home and take actions to beat the coronavirus.
