As the winning team was presented the trophy, Hero ISL became the first Indian sports league to collaborate with Twitter on this on-ground experience that took Tweets offline.

ATK (@ATKFC) rose as champions of the Hero Indian Super League (@IndSuperLeague). The Hero ISL Final was held behind closed doors, but Twitter helped fans send love and cheers for the players through Tweet confetti showering down on the winners.

Hero Indian Super League (@IndSuperLeague) gave the celebration confetti a Tweet makeover, with top #TrueLove Tweets being shortlisted and printed on the confetti that showered down. Here's a look at some of the Tweets that found themselves on the confetti:

On 6th March, as fans geared up for the #HeroISLFinal on March 14, Hero Indian Super League tweeted a call for fans to Tweet their messages for their favorite teams and players using #TrueLove. The shortlisted Tweets were a compilation of Tweets leading up to the game, real-time game reactions by fans, and player Tweets shared before the #HeroISLFinal.

The build-up to the finals started much earlier. To kick off the season, Twitter had India’s favorite footballer, captain of India’s national football team and captain of Bengaluru FC (@bengalurufc), Sunil Chhetri (@chetrisunil11) go live on the service with a candid Twitter Q&A, #AskChhetri.

Some teams also curated Twitter Lists to make it easy for fans to follow updates from the players. These included: FC Goa (@FCGoaOfficial), Mumbai City FC (@MumbaiCityFC), ATK FC (@ATKFC) and Kerala Blasters FC (@KeralaBlasters).

Throughout this season, fans also enjoyed Tweets from Hero ISL (@IndSuperLeague) in multiple Indian languages. Furthermore, video highlights, video polls, player of the match and many more Twitter experiences intended to keep fans engaged.

Commenting on the partnership, Rishabh Sharma, Head Twitter Next, Twitter India said “Twitter is what’s happening in the world of football and we saw fans cheering their teams on Twitter throughout this season of Hero ISL. This year, we took fan engagement to another level with a suite of innovative and interactive experiences.
