Pinterest Shopping Spotlights

Partnering with various influencers and publishers, Pinterest has launched Shopping Spotlights to highlight curated picks and trends.

As a means to bring the experience of browsing through an aisle at a store closer to people stuck at homes, Pinterest has rolled out a new feature called Shopping Spotlights. Fashion and home decor are two shopping verticals where the feature is being rolled out. According to the platform, the feature will bring users a curated experience based on the recommendations of influencers/editors and current Pinterest trends.

"With the feel of a personal stylist and the look of an editorial magazine, shopping the latest trends as well as product picks of your favourite influencers and magazines has never been easier," the platform says. In terms of ease of access, these spotlights will appear on the search tab with articles featuring product pins.

The articles about these products will directly link users to in-stock retailer product pages where the purchase can be made. The feature is currently being rolled out for Android and Web users and will be extended to iOS users in the next few days.

Shopping Spotlights feature is being launched with guest editors such as former Teen Vogue EIC, journalist and author Elaine Welteroth, fashion blogger Blair Eadie and interior designer Sarah Sherman Samuel. Among the publishers, Refinery29, Domino, Who What Wear, InStyle, Nylon, and Harper’s Bazaar have been onboarded.
