Along with the new updates introduced for businesses on WhatsApp to boost shopping, the platform has declared that they would now be charging a fee for some services.
The focus areas of the new updates for the WhatsApp Business app and WhatsApp Business API are outlined to improve messaging and make it a better way for consumers and businesses to connect.
Shopping
WhatsApp will be expanding ways for people to check out available products and make purchases from a chat. The platform is also looking at ways to make it easier for businesses to integrate these features into their existing commerce and customer solutions.
WhatsApp will charge business customers for some of the services they offer, to help the messaging app continue building a business of their own. The platform has not announced the services to be charged, or the pricing details presently.
Facebook Hosting Services
Over the coming months, the messaging service plans to expand their partnerships with business solution providers they've worked with over the last two years.
They will also provide a new option for businesses to manage their WhatsApp messages via hosting services that Facebook plans to offer. This option is intended to make it easier for small and medium-sized businesses to get started, sell products, keep their inventory up to date, and quickly respond to messages they receive - wherever their employees are.
