YouTube Shopping

YouTube has launched a significant update in Video Analytics for creators, along with the shopping feature enabling improved product discovery.

The shopping feature by YouTube is currently in the testing phase, and the other two updates have been broadly rolled out.

#Testing: Shopping Features

YouTube is testing a new shopping feature for creators on the platform, that would enable viewers to discover products featured in a video. The feature is in the pilot phase with a limited number of creators.

Viewers can access a list of the products in the video by tapping the shopping bag icon on the bottom left corner of the video. Each product's page will contain product information, related videos, and purchase options.

Presently, the shopping icon will only be visible to users in the US on iOS, Android, and desktop. The broader rollout is indefinite for now as YouTube continues to experiment with the feature for further development.

Permissions for Artist Channels

Artis Channels now have access to sue the new permissions feature. Channel owners can grant permissions to brand account delegates and give different levels of access such as Manager, Editor, Viewer, and Viewer limited, and invite them to manage their channel.

Note: Once opted in, the brand account management is disabled and existing delegates lose their access.

Video Analytics

YouTube has added a new metric, and the date picker in video analytics now has a new option 'First 24 Hours'.

Creators can tap 'Analytics' on the left sidebar in Creator Studio, and click 'First 24 Hours' in the date picker on the top right corner in the Overview section to access video data for the first 24 hours since published.

This data can also be viewed in comparison for two different videos. The feature is only available for videos published after 2019 and is not available for live-streams.
