LinkedIn has rolled out a slate of new updates with an objective to enable the discovery of meaningful conversations and expert insights, along with providing a new way for users to share posts and improve the safety of Groups.
The new updates by LinkedIn come in the light of a shift in macro-economic trends and high job-seeking activity.
Discovery Of Voices & Conversations
LinkedIn is testing a dedicated hub that would enable users to discover trending conversations aligned with users' interests and would present a collection of newsletters and videos, and events curated by the Linkedin editorial team. This new update has been designed in response to an upsurge in the user behavior of sharing posts about knowledge, ideas, and support, there has been a 2X increase in people engaging in this activity.
Leadership, career journeys, design thinking technology, DEI, remote work, various skills, and professional interests are all discussed on the platform and often garner expert insights, which is why LinkedIn is experimenting with new ways to help users discover relevant news, conversations, and voices from people and organizations.
Meet The Hiring Team
'Meet The Team' is a new section on the details page in the Jobs section, that enables applicants to introduce themselves to the hiring managers or HR executives and connect with them. This part of the page shows the job poster i.e. the recruiter, and members of the hiring team that shared the job. It will also show mutual and 2n-degree connections to help facilitate conversations. LinkedIn mentions meeting the hiring team can be an effective way to learn more about the role and increase the chances of standing out as an applicant.

Carousels
The platform has rolled out a new type of format, called Carousels, to help professionals express themselves in a more visually compelling way. Carousels will enable members to create and share content best suited to educating and engaging their professional audience. It enables users to mix texts, images, and videos to reach the community in a visually engaging, and swipeable way. In addition, users will be able to add clickable links to content so that they can drive traffic to longer-form content. Thousands of creators across the globe, including a small set of Page admins have early access to help test and refine carousels. All members will have access to this new innovative format this Fall.
Career milestones
To help members keep track of life and career milestones and foster a connection, the platform is experimenting with an all-in-one experience that will surface all job changes, birthdays, and work anniversaries in one place, so they never miss out on an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate their connections.
Group Safety
To help organizers streamline acceptance of potential group members, LinkedIn has launched criteria-based acceptance to save time and set certain criteria; along with this, the platform will also enable organizers to draft a personalized welcome note for new members on their first group visit.
