Snap launches AR try-on for Halloween costumes

Snap is extending its virtual try-on integration with new development for the spooky season.

Snap users can try-on, share with friends, and buy costumes of their favorite characters including Disney, Squid Game, Stranger Things, Minecraft, Power Rangers, Transformers, Jurassic World, The Office, Chucky, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters, and Cobra Kai, virtually without taking the effort to land at a brick-and-mortar store.

Users can start by taking a few full-body photos of whatever they’re wearing. Then, the Snap computer vision technology scans the images and applies the product image onto the photo instantly in a way that it looks like they're wearing the costume. Users can also take a Snap and share it with friends to get their opinion, and once they’re ready to buy, they can check out without having to leave the app.

Find these try-on Lenses in Disguise's public profile on Snapchat by searching 'Disguise Costumes’ in the search bar. Specific brand names, like ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Harry Potter’, in Snapchat's Lens Explorer can also be searched, or unlocked a specific Lens using each Snapcode.

Snap intends to elevate the users' shopping experience on the platform and move forwards with their slate of integrated partnerships with various brands that enable substitutes for in-store experiences without having to compromise the most integral element - try-on.
