Goafest 2023 Day 1: EssenceMediacom bags 'Media Agency of the Year'

#ABBYAwards: As Day 1 of the Goafest went by with a blast, the ABBY Awards saw EssenceMediacom, Mindshare and Madison Media winning the most metals with EssenceMediacom winning 'Media Agency of the Year'.

Day one of ABBY Awards at the Goafest 2023 saw a total of 3,301 entries received this year from 181 creative companies and 63 media agencies. Among them, the top three agencies that went home with the most metals were EssenceMediacom, Mindshare, and Madison Media.

This year we also saw digital agencies like Social Panga, BC Web Wise Pvt Ltd. and Sociowash winning in the Media category.

Partha Sinha, President of the Times of India Group and President of The Advertising Club, shared that the festival is witnessing the democratisation of creativity this year. He said, “Creativity is no longer in the hands of a select few; we are seeing the celebration of that sentiment with this edition of Goafest. So, you will hear a lot about the future of creativity overall. Since creativity is the reason we are in this business, we are celebrating it with full gusto. Overall, we are extremely happy with the response we have received with the number of entries this year; a whopping 3,301.”

EssenceMediacom won four gold metals and one Grand Prix for their campaign ‘The Missing Chapter’ for Whisper India under the subcategory- Innovative Use of Out of Home.

The agency won whopping 20 metals in total with four gold for campaigns, ‘Tapping Twitter’ to educate users on online safety for Google, ‘Lets not just greet but meet this Diwali’ for Coca-Cola, ‘Dekho Wicket Se Cricket’ for Thums Up, and ‘The Missing Chapter’ for Whisper.

Overall, a total of 18 Publisher ABBYs and 94 Media ABBYs were awarded on the first day in the Publisher and Media ABBYs. Media ABBYs saw one Grand Prix, 25 Gold, 33 Silver and 35 Bronze awarded while Publisher ABBYs saw two Gold, five Silver and six Bronze wins and five entries received a Certificate of Merit.
