KFC Canada has come up with a new campaign that issues apologies to spoons, forks, and knives that are left behind by its Finger Lickin’ good food.
After hosting a funeral for fries in a quirky campaign, KFC Canada says sorry to utensils in recent ad. The campaign shows a number of people eating KFC food with hands while certain utensils like forks and spoons are left behind.
The video features some of the brand’s most popular food items being devoured by customers while the utensils are left in drawers or thrown away. The camera is focused in a way that emphasises on the act of leaving behind the utensils.
The campaign is headed by famous music and commercial director Henry Scholfield and features Air Supply’s iconic hit “All Out of Love.” The creative agency Courage is helming the campaign.
While saying sorry to the utensils left behind, the campaign remains unapologetic for cooking up delicious food that is loved by millions of people. KFC sends out the message that it will keep cooking the fan-favourites. And the fact that people use their fingers instead of utensils is meant to be a testament to their high-quality chicken.
Recently, KFC Canada held a ‘Fry Funeral’ to bid adieu to their infamous traditional bland fries. With this, KFC said it heard its critics loud and clear. The old soggy, bland fries were said to be replaced by KFC’s new seasoned fries, which the brand described as, “crispy and seasoned enough to satisfy our toughest critics.”
Taking a quirky approach again, KFC’s apology campaign commences with the ad film and extends across print, social, and OOH.
