Elon Musk’s Tesla is set to get a revamp with a change in the advertising policy. Musk has resisted the idea of advertising for his automotive company for years now, tweeting in 2019 that he ‘hates advertising’.
The company has created a name for itself despite the lack of advertising strategies. However, during the company’s investor meeting recently, Musk decided to give advertising a try, saying the company will try out ‘a little bit of advertising'.
Musk, who also owns Twitter, has been running the platform through advertising sales and placating the advertisers via incentives. It’s a wonder if his new ‘love’ for advertising comes from the reported appointment of Linda Yaccarino, who has years of experience in advertising, as the new Twitter CEO.

Previously, a Twitter user had posted a video on the platform claiming it to be the company’s ‘first ad’ featuring Ryan Reynolds, which turned out to be created with deep fake technology. Musk, however, gave traction to the video by commenting ‘nice’.

As someone with an interest in technology, especially with its recent developments in AI, it will be interesting to see whether Musk would be actively integrating it into his advertising strategies at Tesla.
